Chief Operating Officer
Robert Manzer serves as the Chief Operating Officer for the Texas Association of Nonprofit Organizations with a focus on strategic organizational development, membership expansion, marketing, academic partnerships and resource development. Previously, Dr. Manzer worked as a higher education administrator at four different institutions, including serving as Vice President for Academic Affairs at St. Edward’s University. A political scientist, he holds a Ph.D. and M.A. from the University of Chicago, and a B.A. from Carleton College. Before entering academic administration, he taught political theory, international relations, and American politics. His primary scholarly interests are in Enlightenment Liberalism and the theoretical and practical foundations of modern constitutional government. He has published articles on David Hume and the Federalist’s political thought in the American Political Science Review, the American Journal of Political Science, and Polity.
Dr. Manzer serves as president of St. Catherine’s Saint Vincent de Paul conference at St. Catherine’s parish. He also serves on the board of the college-access nonprofit College Forward. He is married to Alison Manzer and has three sons: Sam, Jack and James.
