Austin’s Premier Volunteer Management Organization Hosts First Serving U! Conference Aug 12, 2011!
Early Bird Registration is now open until July 15th for those interested in attending the conference.
Austin, TX:Directors of Volunteers in Austin (DOVIA) is the premier organization for volunteer management professionals in Austin, TX. DOVIA is pleased to announce that we will be hosting our first conference this summer. Serving U! will be held on Friday August 12th, 8:30am - 4pm, at St. Edward's University. There will also be a happy hour Aug 11th from 5-7pm at Opal Divine’s for additional networking opportunities.
There will be several sessions throughout the day, on topics such as Social Media (beginners and advanced), Funding for Volunteer Programs, How to Utilize Media, and more. There will also be several Dialogue Sessions, hosted by DOVIA Board members, which give attendees an opportunity to discuss various topics in depth. The session topics are actually applicable across a variety of nonprofit positions, not just volunteer management.
According to DOVIA’s Board President, Lou Serna, “With thousands of non-profits in Austin, DOVIA is excited to reach out and provide high level presenters and presentations to the professionals who coordinate, manage, train, recruit, and engage volunteers throughout the community. This is a unique opportunity to connect newcomers to the field with subject matter experts, as well as provide interactive dialogue sessions for established professionals.” Additionally, anyone who works with volunteers, such as faith-based organizations, small businesses, and large corporations are all encouraged to register and attend.
Serving U! is now open for Early Bird Registration! The cost is just $30 until July 15th and $50 from July 16th through Aug 5th.
