Important dates to note as the 82nd Texas Legislative Session nears:
- November 8, 2010 - First date to pre-file bills for this session;
- November 1 - 30, 2010 - Final Hearings by House and Senate committees to complete interim charges and studies assigned after the 2009 session;
- January 11, 2011 - First day of 82nd Regular Legislative Session, which continues for 140 days;
- March 11, 2011 - 60th day of session; last day to file original bills;
- May 30, 2011 - 140th day of session; last day of session
