Michael S. Doré specializes in strategic planning and management, process improvement, marketing, and assessment.  He holds an MBA in Management from the University of Maryland.



Mr. Doré is president of MSD Resources.  He was formerly a senior consultant with the IBM Consulting Group and was manager of quality for the $3 billion, 17-country IBM Latin America business unit.  He also held other key domestic and international management positions at IBM in marketing, finance, planning, and business practices.



He has worked extensively with non-profits in the Austin, Texas area, developing business and strategic plans. He has worked with Habitat for Humanity, Any Baby Can, BiG (Businesses Invest in Growth), Prevent Blindness Texas, Mobile Loaves and Fishes, Texas Association Against Sexual Assault, Texas Catholic Radio, the Catholic Diocese of Austin, Hyde Pak Baptist Schools, HyHand the Miracle Foundation.  In January, 2003 he wrote a book on strategic planning called Strategic Thinking within Nonprofits.   In September he published a similar book called Strategic Thinking within Your Company.



Mike counsels new and existing entrepreneurs at SCORE Austin. He has developed a methodology for strategic planning for communities or cities.  He has consulted also with clients in the pharmaceutical, oil, health, financial, banking, computer, energy, investment, nuclear, protein, and beverage industries.



He has led seminars and managed projects or training for more than 3000 executives and professionals in strategic planning, process management, quality management, marketing, and transformational leadership.  He has consulted and taught for five years for the American Management Association nationally and globally.



He has taught at St. Edward’s University MBA and New College programs in Austin, Texas.  He presents quarterly for Austin Community College's Center for Community-Based and Nonprofit Organizations, and has led seminars at the University of Texas.

A business plan is a  written document that demonstrates persuasively that your organization is viable and can accomplish its objectives. It shows the What, When, Where, Why, and How and Who will accomplish those objectives.
