How to Work a Room: Secrets to Meeting and Greeting

June 17, 2010

People often dismiss the phrase "working a room" as the hip lingo for the art of mingling and socializing at a party, but, believe it or not, it's an essential part of your public relations success. Whether it's the boardroom, a business after-hours get-together, a special event fundraiser, or a press conference, opportunities abound for you to "work a room" and get your message to the people who need to hear it.

This fun workshop will help you discover how to use public events to strategically make contacts that will further your organization's mission.  Learn how to make an introduction, how to overcome the obstacles that keep you from meeting people, what conversations to avoid, and the art of the graceful exit, so that you can move on and make new contacts without offending those you just met.
