Mary Beth Harrington serves as Director of Community Outreach for the Texas Association of Nonprofit Organizations (TANO). TANO was founded in 1993 as a statewide association to reflect and promote Texas’ growing independent sector in all its diversity.
Previous to TANO, Harrington was Executive Director of the Austin Public Library Foundation, Director of Agency Relations at the Volunteer Center of North Texas (VCNT) and Volunteer Coordinator for the Dallas Public Library, where she was responsible for over 3500 volunteers at 23 locations.
An enthusiastic speaker, Harrington is an advocate for the nonprofit sector having spoken about issues facing our nonprofit community at numerous national, state, and local events.
Previous to her experience in the nonprofit sector, Harrington spent the first ten years of her career in the public relations and advertising field where she promoted both national and local clients – everything from a building implosion to cinnamon rolls.
