Teaching & Testing: A Delicate Balance

Speaker Theresa Kauffman

Principal
The Hill School
Theresa is principal at Hill School of Fort Worth, a school for children with learning differences. She has taught at all levels, with most of her experience with middle school students. She also consults for law-related education and special education programs.

Faced with mounting pressures to ensure student performance and by a public that is quick to disparage the art of teaching, educators can just as quickly lose faith and feel defeated.  Yet it is in helping one student find success, in helping one student discover her strengths, in helping one student find hope, that we re-energize our souls and remember the initial purpose that called us to this noble profession of teaching.  Join us for a day of learning and personal reflection as we take a look at the various ways our brains are wired for learning and how our own core beliefs bring the hope of success to our students.
