Full Description

We all say and do things we regret later. Many times, we’ll say to ourselves, “what was I thinking?” or, “I can’t believe I said that!”  Later, it's often easy to think of better ways we could have dealt with a problem or more productive things we could have said.  Why does this happen?

Much of the time, it’s stress.  The physiological chaos that results from stress impairs the function of the neo cortex, the most evolved part of the brain. The neo cortex performs higher functions such as sensory perception, generation of motor commands, spatial reasoning, conscious thought, and language.  In this presentation, we’ll discuss the profound ways stress impacts our health and performance and learn some simple yet powerful tools that enable us to perform well under pressure and to relax and rejuvenate when we have the opportunity.
