The Texas Association of Nonprofit Organizations (TANO) is a statewide organization that empowers nonprofits by providing a collective voice in legislative circles, collective buying power to reduce expenses and significant opportunities for professional and organizational development.
The Texas nonprofit sector is significant in size and responsibility. Our nonprofit members and their peers constitute 3.8% of the total workforce in Texas; twice as many as employed in the real estate and leasing industry and 20% more than the entire Texas state government. Communities across the state rely on nonprofit organizations to meet the needs of their citizens. As a result of the current financial environment, community needs are growing while resources are dwindling.
TANO’s vision is broad and provides the resources and support necessary for nonprofit organizations to meet the needs of their communities and citizens. Our mission is accomplished through a large variety of benefits and programs, and the generous support of our members.
