Robert Manzer serves as the Chief Operating Officer for the Texas Association of Nonprofit Organizations (TANO). A political scientist, he holds a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago and has published articles in the leading journals of political science, including American Political Science Review and the American Journal of Political Science. Dr. Manzer volunteers as president of St. Catherine’s parish’s Saint Vincent de Paul conference and as a board member of College Forward.

Reduced funding, increased regulation, contracting problems, and even taxation are part of a new reality facing nonprofits in many states.  In this breakfast conversation, we will discuss the public policy challenges facing Texas nonprofits on the federal, state and city levels.

You will also hear updates about Texas’s two legislatively-mandated task forces: the recently completed Task Force on Strengthening Nonprofit Capacity and the new Task Force on Improving Relations with Nonprofits currently co-chaired by TANO CEO Barry Silverberg with Texas Impact CEO Bee Moorhead.
