Robert sold his CPA and Consulting practice in 1989 and shortly afterwards entered the field of Training and Adult Education. That journey has taken him though a variety of experiences including, the Directorship of a literacy program, positions on several non-profit boards, and instructional and training experience in Adult and Family Literacy, ESL, GED, and Workforce Literacy. Robert is a frequent presenter at local, regional and national conferences and trains and consults around the country for businesses, school districts, non-profits, municipalities and universities. Currently he operates a consulting business and serves on the National Governance Council of ProLiteracy America, the Board of South Central Literacy Action, a literacy organization representing members in six states including Texas and the Texas Association of Nonprofit Organizations.
Locally Robert has served in a number of capacities including service as an adjunct consultant to the Texas Family Literacy Center; serving on the original committee that developed the Texas State Plan for Adult Education; serving a term on the Advisory Board at the Texas Center for Adult Literacy and Learning at Texas A & M and serving on the Board of Literacy Austin.
