Cheryl Black has 27 years of experience working within nonprofit organizations as a volunteer, board member, fund-raiser, donor, independent auditor, consultant, seminar speaker, controller and executive director. She assumed the role of TANO’s Chief Operating Officer in August 2009 following TANO’s acquisition of her financial management firm, DREAMCO USA.Cheryl’s areas of expertise include budgeting and audit supervision, financial management of capital construction projects (including bond issues), investment activity analysis, payroll and fringe benefits administration, and facility operations supervision. She has served as Executive Director - Austin Humane Society and Director of Finance and Administration - Austin Museum of Art. Board positions have included Finance Committee for Gateway Community Church, Treasurer for the Texas Association of Nonprofit Organizations and member-at-large for the Volunteer Healthcare Clinic. Her community service includes Audit Review Committee member for United Way Capital Area and grant reviewer for the AmeriCorps State Grant Competition.
Cheryl holds a B. S. in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska - Kearney and a State of Nebraska CPA certificate.
